Gaetane Michaux
Gaëtane Michaux is an artist and architect from Brussels who lives and works in Brooklyn. If architecture is building, graphic design is the creation of images, and sculpture is the massaging of matter, then Gaëtane's background in the three have left her interested in mixing up everything she sees. From street art to people, Gaëtane reconfigures what already exists in the world.
Combining photography, collage, and custom-made puzzles, Gaëtane creates new possibilities and adjacencies. Street art, street artists, movie posters, family and friends have all fallen victim to her x-acto blade, only to have their pieces mixed up with those of others, and finding themselves completely puzzled.
